When do we enlighten our houses with Deepavali?

Deepavali often changes the date year after year and we indulge our houses with festival of gleam on the no-moon day of the Kartik month of the Hindu calendar. We pray, eat, and burst colored sparklers on the darkest day of October 31st and November 1st, 2024. Although the party goes on for five days, the occasion begins and ends with a bang.

The mighty tale of Diwali.

The tale of Diwali begins with the mighty beast called Narakasura, a demon. He was evil and strong at the same time. Though he happened to be a son of Bhoomi Matha, the goddess of earth. He tortured and tried to conquer all the worlds into his hands.

Hence, lord Krishna, the god of protection, came to the rescue. Lord Krishnan and Queen Satyabhama together defeated Narakasura in a single battle. The day was saved and all the human beings became happy as they celebrated the victory of light over dark or good over bad.

How do Indian people celebrate Diwali?

Indian people celebrate Diwali starting in the early dawn of the sparkling festival by waking up, taking an oil bath, and doing puja with the offerings of new dresses, new fireworks, sparklers, flower decorations, fresh food, and sweets.

Diwali puja would be over by the time of sunrise on the amazing festival of luminosity and glow. Some people of India also celebrate the day by worshiping Goddess Laxmi, with lightning earthen lamps to brighten their path of life forever. Regardless, the festival of lights offers us positivity, good health, and good wealth destroying the negativity, the asura within.
